ELIZABETH HIDDLESON CROCHET BOOKS AND LEAFLETS
Elizabeth was an American crochet pattern designer from the early 1950's. Most patterns have written instructions and very good sharp black and white photographs, which make them easy to follow. Also very good for those people who do not read patterns but prefer to work from the picture. Most of the Filet Patterns are presented as graphs.
Most of her designs were done in #30 and #20 thread but any size thread can be used, just remember to change the hook size to suit the thread. If you click on size and texture you will get an idea of the different sizes that will be obtained.
Please note that some of these books are old (not secondhand) and have been in storage for more than 10 years, so there may be rusty staples, discoloured pages and may have that old smell, but the books are new.

46 pages to crochet 18 designs for round doilies – some with pinwheels incorporated in the designs, filet hanger/ doily "make new friends, keep the old, one is silver the other gold" very nice, pine doily, 8 interesting motifs including 2 crosses, 38" round cloth with star centre surrounded by diamonds and pineapples. Very pretty. Another 36" round with floral edging, a mountain deer filet, scalloped doily, some quick doilies to do.

38 pages to crochet 11 designs for large round doilies – oblong filet with stars, a oval centre 18" x 42", an interesting star shaped 9" doily that you can increase to make bigger mats, a filet mat with birds, 63" round tablecloth with hearts very delicate, other doilies incorporating spider web, shells, and picots. Complete filet alphabet in old English writing.

34 pages to crochet 10 designs for small round doilies – star shaped, some with pinwheels, clusters, diamonds, good variety, filet square of angel and let there be light, spider motif to join up for bigger mats. These 9" doilies would look good in colours, variegated threads, or just plain white/ecru.

38 pages to crochet 8 designs for 36" round cloth with a 12 petal centre and diamonds to the outside with a scallop edge, shell doily with 12 scallops at the edge, 24 flower wreath centrepiece- fine but effective, filet butterfly doily, square pinwheel and pineapple doily, 62" round tablecloth with a bit of a challenge (on the cover), wedding ring doily, and a couple of small doilies.

34 pages packed with 9 great ideas for doilies and tablecloths. a few good motifs so that your work can be a doily to a bedspread, some pineapples, an interesting filet with motifs (front cover), hex motif, large pineapple doily, beautiful round rose and butterfly cloth 66" in diameter also on front cover, and a couple of round doilies to challenge you.

34 pages with 11 designs including filet round butterfly doily, roses and butterflies in an oblong mat, cupid lost his arrow filet, cala lily filet, pea fowl filet, duck filet, rabbit filet all for chair backs/hanger, or large doily. An all over star filet design that could be used for a multiple of household items and filet rose runner. Lots of filet in this one.
